My mother in law is pretty old school and obviously hasn't been around a baby since DH was one himself. She tells me last night that I need to give our baby a bottle of water preferably with sugar in it between bottles. I asked my mom about it and she said that when I was a baby mothers were told to give their children bottles of water (no sugar I have no idea where that came from). Has anyone ever heard of this? I'm almost certain I won't be doing this, but to be safe, will check my doctor's opinion on the entire thing. Just curious what you all think or if you're familiar with it. Hospitals give babies glucose water if they are having blood sugar problems, but water isn't necessary after that. And even that can be avoided if mom BFs right away.
