Ah, but softball. In softball, part of the charm comes from the chance to mix things up every summer. Players hook on with new teams. And teams, in turn, get promoted'' or demoted'' to new leagues, depending on their previous summer's won loss record. This year, as always, the Manchester Parks and Recreation Department's leagues have lots of new faces in new places. But one thing seems clear. The best team in town going into this season is the same team that ended last summer on top. Yes, UNICO is clearly the odds on favorite in Manchester this summer. With Jon Brandt, Ben Pagani, Steve Crispino, Walt Adamy, Bill Jenkins, Jim Grimes and the rest, UNICO has plenty of talent. But they've apparently added to that core the best of the free agents'' from the now defunct Brown's Package Store team Dave Dougan. It says here that UNICO will win it all once again. That is, they'll play four teams three times, and the other two teams twice. The luck of the schedule maker's draw will determine the matchups, but it could be crucial. Last year, Main Pub went 12 2 to win the league handily. I'm picking Tim O'Neil's team to run second to UNICO this summer, followed by Jeff Grote's young and improving Wilson Oil/Razor's Edge team. The fourth and final playoff spot will go to Dynalube, which, thanks to the play of Rob Roya, Glenn Dubois and others, reached the finals of last year's playoffs. Fifth will be Manchester Medical Supply/Hungry Tiger, followed by Pepe's (Ray Sprague has added Al Menasian from Cummings) and Taylor Landscaping. Nike League: Much tougher to handicap, but I'll take Washington Social Club, which finished in a three way tie for second last year. Jim Clifford's team did, however, beat the first place Olive Garden twice. Give second to Lathrop Insurance (Bob Lathrop expects to have exclusive use of Dave Andrulaitis this year), with Olive Garden dropping to third. I'll take a flyer and pick Copier Connection fourth, although a first place finish in the Pagani League (which was Copier Connection's accomplishment last year) hardly guarantees success at the next level. Last year, he led Sposito's to the town's National'' title before moving, in the fall, to Florida. He may be back, and if so, Sposito's will be a bear. In any event, Todd Pavan has made some other additions (including Kyle Dougan and Bob Woble, an outstanding albeit left handed third baseman) that make his team my pick for first. After that, it's hard to say. I'll give second to Glenn Construction, followed by Tierney's and Auto Lock. Main Pub will be fifth, followed by Network Tavern (which is moving up after winning the Rec League last year), Trashaway (also moving up after taking the Northern League) and Performance Wheels (formerly Town Pavilions). Pagani League: Look for a WSC quinella. That's right, Dan Hanson's Washington Social Club II team will win the Pagani League (which is playing under the lights at Robertson this year), followed by Cummings Insurance (moving down from the Nike League). Village Floors, a new entry coached by Steve Efano, will be third, with Allstate Business Machines fourth. That leaves Zembroski's, Army Navy and Hungry Tiger bringing up the rear. Rec League: There's an irresistible subplot here, what with the presence of two Police Department teams. Tom Lagassie's team is called Manchester Police 1495. Al Anderson's crew is called Manchester Police Too. There will be big crowds on the nights they hook up. In the end, though, look for Lagassie and company to finish on top in the league. I'll take Allied Printing (moving down after an abysmal season in the Nike League last year) second, with Dickenson Plumbing (a new team coached by Tom McLaughlin) third. Next will be Trinity Covenant Church, followed by Nulli's (which won the West Side League last year), Eastern Video, Manchester Police Too, and English Construction. While the railways at present run 12 coach trains, Pune divisional railway manager Vishal Agarwal, a couple of months back, had announced that there is a plan to run 13 coach trains.A few days after the announcement, the railways had conducted trial runs of the same. The response was positive, said a railway official. The work of extending the platforms at some stations is to be taken up, but no timeframe has been fixed as yet. Officials say that the platforms will be extended to accommodate not just 13 coach trains, but to accommodate 15 coach trains keeping in mind future requirements. The Central Railway has already begun running 15 coach trains in Mumbai. On the Pune Lonavla section, the railways had earlier been running nine coach trains. From March 2009 onwards, the railways decided to run 12 coach trains because of the heavy rush of passengers. Worldwide Official Website Provide Authentic Women Nike Free Run 2 Blue White Yellow,Men Nike Free Run 2 Anthracite Grey White Black Yellow Intro to Promotional ModelingPromotional models are a hot commodity. More than ever, brands need pretty faces that can bring their products and services to life. In a world dominated by digital media and information overload, promotional spokes models help to cut through the clutter and make a lasting impression with potential customers. The industry for promo models and street teams is certainly growing, creating a fun and lucrative opportunity for men and women who want to make a living in the fast paced world of modeling. To understand why promotional marketing and modeling has gotten so popular, it helps to first understand the origins of advertising and the development of the marketing mix. Product promotion is a vital part of the marketing mix, and promotional models can provide additional value by creating awareness and affinity for new products and services. The Marketing Mix and Promotional ModelingUnderstanding the Role of Promotions and ModelsYou don't have to be a fan of the hit AMC television series Mad Men to understand how advertising revolutionized consumerism in America. In the 1950s, traditional media like print and television began to shape consumer demand with clever ads and tag lines. As consumer spending increased, so too did American brands' appreciation for a new level of advertising. Product promotion became scientific, and American businesses began investing huge budgets to better understand and pitch to their target markets. By the 1960s, researchers and marketers made great progress in dissecting consumer behavior. Mr. Neil Borden had already released a paper titled The Concept of the Marketing Mix years earlier, in which he described the need for businesses to understand how different elements of product research, development, and marketing needed to successfully drive awareness and sales. In 1960, marketer E. Jerome McCarthy expanded upon the concept of the Marketing Mix by developing "the 4 P's" a guide for businesses to effectively position new products and services in front of customers. The 4 P's Product. This can be either a physical product or an intangible service. Businesses develop products and services to satisfy existing consumer demands. In rarer instances, products and services are developed to satisfy a need that consumers were never aware of prior to the product/service being created. Price. This is the amount the business will charge for the product or service, denominated in the currency of the marketplace (dollars, euros, yen, etc.) Promotion. Product promotion describes the specific methods that business will use to build awareness and demand for products in the marketplace. This is a crucial element of the marketing mix, and it includes advertising, public relations, sales promotions, and informal word of mouth buzz. Place. Also referred to as "distribution," the Place element of the 4 P's describes how the product or service will make it to market. For example, businesses may elect to distribute products and services via wholesalers and retailers. Or, business may choose to license/franchise the rights to products and services to qualified 3rd parties. In turn, those licensees or franchisees provide the products and services to customers. Promo Modeling Tips 8 Tips Every Model Should Live ByThe importance of product promotion was highlighted by the development of the 4 P's, which eventually laid the foundation for promotional modeling, street team marketing, and experiential marketing campaigns. As this industry grows, so too do the opportunities for young men and women to make a living participating in fun work with forward thinking brands. Success in the promotional modeling industry requires attention to detail. Research the client, arrive prepared, and always conduct yourself in a professional manner. Make a name for yourself in the growing industry of promotional modeling by following these tips for success.1. Do Some Research Before You Show Up. Take time to learn about the business you are going to represent. If a trade only show, understand that attendees will be mostly businessmen and women who specialize in that field. Know how to communicate using industry language, stats, and "technical speak." For public promotions and shows, know how to communicate in layman's terms. 2. Always Have Hair and Makeup Ready Prior to the Promotion. Always arrive with the mindset that there will be no time to prepare on location. If there is time, then you can take an extra moment or two to ensure you look your best. 3. Models Live Out of Their Car. Comfortably! Promotional modeling and marketing is a fast paced industry. What's more, booking agents sometimes have to replace no shows at the last minute. Be prepared for anything by keeping extra clothes, shoes (heels, flats, wedges), makeup, and other essentials in your car. Don't be surprised if a random afternoon turns in to a paid gigi, a new business relationship, and a sustainable revenue stream for the future! 4. When preparing for a gig, take the time to familiarize yourself with all pertinent details. Know who the target audience is, what their level of knowledge/experience with the product is, and what you need to do to bridge the gap. Also pay attention to specific "Do's" and "Don'ts" provided by the client and/or promotional booking agency. 5. As a Model, Understand that You Are the Face of the Brand. Promotional models are often hired to bring brands to life. It is a great responsibility that must be taken seriously. Arrive early, and think ahead. trade only conventions may call for business casual attire). Wear classy, non trendy styles. Also remember to think big picture: If you are promoting exotic cars, don't wear studded belts or jewelry that could scratch the paint when you pose alongside the vehicles. 6. Learn 3 Promo Words! This is perhaps the easiest yet most underutilized promotional modeling tip. Learn 3 words that best describe the client's brand, product, or promotion. Keep the target audience in mind when selecting these words, as you will be communicating with them throughout the promotion. You may also ask the promotional modeling agency that booked you for help in this area, as clients often provide these words or "tag lines" for models to use. 7. Know When to Use Social Media. Speak with the promotional modeling agency about the role of social media in promoting the product or service. If requested by the client, use social media like Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram to document the promotion in a tasteful and entertaining manner. Remember: You are a promotional model, not an attendee! Limit use of social media, and focus on promoting the products and services. 8. When it Comes to Undergarments, Keep it Simple. Avoid wearing undergarments that are laced, printed, colorful, or patterned. Stick with basics in colors like white, tan, or beige.
