Greinke is quite simply the best starter in baseball right now. Had he played for the Yankees last season instead of the Royals he might have won 25 games. He throws five pitches for strikes, his domination stunning at times. Francis, meanwhile, is trying to regain his 2007 form. This will be his second spring outing, and improvement should follow. Francis struggled with his command against the Giants, which is a problem with his velocity still lacking. He convinced he will be ready for the season. I am inclined to believe him. But the next two pluys weeks will be huge for him. He has to show he major league ready. Brad Hawpe anticipated debut will have to wait another day. He going to play in an instrasquad game rather than against the Royals. Hawpe, Todd Helton and Jason Giambi should all make their debuts by the end of this weekend. A couple of quick notes before the lineup: Rafael Betancourt said his shoulder feels percent better than it did this time a week ago. The inflammation is gone. He will play catch at 100 feet today, and hopes to throw off the slope of the mound this weekend. The clock is ticking for him to be ready for the season opener April 5, but he could make it if he doesn have anymore setbacks. Jay Payton has been impressed with outfielder Seth Smith. didn know much about him before I got here. He can really hit. I could see him starting for a lot of teams, Payton said. ROCKIES LINEUP VS. He is batting .600 (6 for 10) after belting three hits, including a first pitch home run to center field today. Using his longer stride, Troy Tulowitzki posted a hustle double in the three run sixth, narrowly beating the throw. Tulowitzki struck the ball sharply three times, lining to right in the only at bat he was retired. left fielder Jay Payton made a nice running catch on a sinking liner in the ninth inning. Misses: Eric Young Jr. left four runners in scoring position in his second and third at bats. Hector Gomez, a shortstop by trade, muffed a chance at third base after entering in the middle of the game. Matt Daley struggled with command, walked a batter, balked twice (called by umpire "Balkin Bob Davidson), gave up a two run double to Chad Huffman after a lengthy at bat and an RBI single to Matt Antonelli. Unless, of course, the Rockies find themselves on the wrong end of a blowout loss. Then Mora is ready, wink wink, for an inning or two on the mound. got a good breaking ball, he said. Steel Grey 10s,Why does pointe shoe fit matter? All too often at my studio, I see a student in my pointe class bring in a new pair of pointe shoes to wear that night in class. The teacher asks to see them and asks where they got them. Many girls buy shoes at a store in town that only carries one make and model of pointe shoe. One make and model for the whole town?? That's not good enough, and you shouldn't buy pointe shoes from a store that does not have a wide selection of makes models of shoes. It's unclear whether dance teachers aren't adequately teaching parents about the importance of the right fit in a shoe, or if the shoe fitters of the world are really doing that poor of a job. There are videos all over Youtube with girls in poorly fitting shoes attempting advanced maneuvers en pointe in their kitchen. The right pointe shoe will be relatively painless (keyword, relatively pointe hurts, if you don't get at least some discomfort you are probably overpadding!) and not cause bruised toenails, blisters, bunions, metatarsal pain, crunching, twisting, sickling, etc! Pointe is uncomfortable, but shouldn't leave you or your daughter in agony each day. For the same reason you shouldn't blindly order shoes from the internet without trying them on, you shouldn't believe everything out of your pointe shoe fitters mouth. You must educate yourself and your daughter, if you are reading this as a parent. You must know exactly what foot type you have and how that translates into pointe shoes. I wrote a blog post entitled Learning Your Foot Type For The Best Pointe Fit it has some good advice for determining what your foot shape is and what it means. I was fitted once for a pair of Capezio Aria pointe shoes. They looked beautiful on my feet in the store, but after dancing in them once my strong feet stretched them out, and no amount of padding could provide any relief from the immense pressure on my big toes. After this debacle I set out to learn more about my feet and about different types of pointe shoes. I learned that my feet are compressible, which has an immense impact on how my feet are shaped en pointe. When my feet are flat, they look rather square and very wide. When en pointe, my feet are very slender and narrow. The Capezio Area shoes that give me so much pain are some of the boxiest squared off shoes you can buy right now. Completely wrong for the shape of my feet! After two classes I couldn't stand in them for more than a few seconds before feeling agony set in. As an adult, I know something is obviously wrong. Would your 13 year old daughter know that agony is the wrong feeling to have in pointe shoes? They are supposed to hurt, after all! What Should My Pointe Fitter Look For?That said, here are a few things your pointe fitter should take into consideration for you/your daughters pointe shoes: Are her feet compressible? Do the metatarsal joints squish in when light pressure is applied to them? If so, they are compressible. There are varying degrees of squishy ness, but compression makes fitting the dancer more complex. Make sure your fitter knows if the feet are compressible! A good one will check. What shape are her toes? There are several types of toe shapes to take into consideration. Square toes, where all are about the same length and don't taper off require a square shoe, like the Arias I was sold. I have 3 toes about the same length, and then they tape off dramatically. I need shoes that are slightly tapered to give me adequate support en pointe. Is the big toe squished? Pointe shoes should lightly touch the tip of the dancer's big toe when the foot is at it's longest. The dancer should plie in 2nd position to determine if the shoe is long enough. Does the shoe twist? The fitter should always make sure the sole of the shoe isn't twisting away from the bottom of the foot. A properly fitting shoe should not twist in any way on the dancer's foot. A shoe that's twisting is likely too tight. Is the shoe too long? When the dancer rests one foot on pointe, there shouldn't be a big baggy excess of fabric at the back of the heel. This means the shoe is too long. Did the fitter try many types of pads? There are many different types of pointe shoe pads on the market, and the new dancer should try many different types to find the best fit. A shoe that almost fits perfectly can be made perfect with the right padding. Remember: a shoe that is too tight will only become tighter with extra padding to make it hurt less. Your shoes are too small! There are other considerations to take, but this is a great foundation for finding the right pointe shoe fit. The wrong shoe can mean the difference between struggles and tears, and true freedom of motion. It's a no brainer. How Should Pointe Shoes Feel?Pointe shoes shouldn't immediately hurt when you first put them on standing flat. I think we've made that clear, but how are they supposed to feel? Properly fitting pointe shoes should just brush the tip of your big toe. They should cup the metatarsal (bunion) area, while hugging the toes. The heel should be snug but not too tight, and definitely not super baggy. The vamp (point of shoe on top of the feet, just above the toes) should cover your toe cleavage, and be supportive of your arch. The drawstring should create a nice snug fit around your foot, no bagginess here please! The shank should be strong enough to bear your weight, but not so strong that you can't get over the box. The majority of your weight should be over your first three toes. If your weight is bearing down on your big toe only in the store, once the shoe stretches you'll be in lots of pain. You may need better padding or a jelly tip over your 2nd toe to help evenly distribute your weight off of your big toe. Marisa Wright 10 months ago from Sydney Level 3 Commenter When I was dancing, our local dance store had only one make of pointe shoe, and that was pretty normal in most cities if there was a dance store at all! In any case, in those days in Britain you had a choice between Freed and Gamba although Porsello and Anello Davide existed, they weren't stocked by any stores outside London as far as I'm aware. I don't even recall Freed having more than one model (although they had different makers, as they do now, and different shanks and widths etc). You just had to make them fit somehow! Dancers today might find it hard to believe when they're trying to find a shoe that fits, but they're very lucky to have so much choice. Anouk 2 months ago I recently bought two pairs of pointe shoes to alternate between, but after using them in class they are too narrow for my feet! The next width up was too wide, or so I thought. Will I be able to stretch them out and be able to dance comfortably? How long will it take?
Order Authentic Steel Grey 10s,Concord 11 Lows A friend of mine had intense hatred towards her job, she used to explain to me how much she suffers every morning on her way to the office and how horrible she feels at the end of each weekend. Whenever my friend told her friends or relatives about her problem they always gave her the same answer, "Be strong, everyone is working why do you want to be different" Sadly their answer reflects how poorly they understand her because if they knew anything about people understanding they would have never said that. In this article I will teach you how to understand people better by telling you how to avoid the common mistakes everyone does when trying to understand someone else. "Be strong, everyone is working why do you want to be different" This answer stems from the false belief that everyone is identical while the truth is that each one of us sees the world differently based on his own past experiences. If dogs ran after a six year old child he might grow up fearing dogs while if the parents of another guy bought him a small pet dog when he was six then he might grow up loving dogs. If the second guy saw the first feeling uncomfortable because a dog was passing by he might think that he is a coward!! The main reason the second guy labeled the first one coward is that he judged him based on his own belief system. For the second guy dogs are not harmful so why on earth would someone fear them? The first fatal mistake that can prevent you from understanding people is judging them based on your own belief system. To understand people you must feel their emotions The "be strong" advice stems from another false belief which is thinking that we all have the same level of tolerance towards different events but the truth is that we are completely different. A person might love to stay at home while another could suffocate if he spent few hours without interacting with people. In order to understand people you don just need to put yourself in their shoes but you need to feel the emotions they experience. When I spoke to my friend who hates her job I found out that deep inside her subconscious mind freedom was valued the most, and because she associated desk jobs with lack of freedom she couldn stand going to an office from 9 to 5 just like the rest of people. I encouraged her to quit her job and she is now happy doing free lance training and coaching. One of the most common mistakes people do when attempting to understand each other is labeling them if they didn understand the intention behind their behaviour. For example you could label a person dumb for doing something that appears non logical to you but as soon as you understand the reason behind his actions you might find that you were mistaken. Calling someone idiot, mad or nuts are sometimes nothing more than a way to help yourself become familiar with his acts. We humans don like vague things and that why we rush to define everyone actions from our perspective just to feel that we understand them. Many couples fight just because they assume each other's intentions incorrectly. If they were to discuss these actions face to face they would have found that the intention was good in many cases and they would have had less fights. If I were asked to summarize understanding people into few words I would have said that in order to understand people better you must live their past, feel their emotions and think using their minds. Steel Grey 10s Nike are making a huge effort to get amongst the big boys of golf club manufacturers, and their new VRs line of irons may just be their best attempt yet to get into the bags of the average golfer. And what better place to test them than at Oulton Hall in Leeds where they have a superb Nike Academy facility as well as 27 holes for our testers to weild these new clubs around. Moving on from the old Slingshot and Machspeed are the VRs and the VRs Forged irons, and the difference immediately is remarkable in look alone instead of the huge bulkier look of the older efforts, it's as if something has clicked and Nike have really discovered what a good looking golf club is. Both the VRs and the Forged irons look stunning, upon close inspection the cavity at the back of the VRs is sizeable, but when addressing the ball it hardly comes into view, while the red and black colour scheme adds real appeal. The more silver Forged models are classy in their subtlety, and offer a premium club for those wanting to find even more distance whilst looking the part. Nike have pulled out all the stops to muscle in on the act, but not all of their R cash has gone on aesthetics, as they have ploughed a bucket load of technology into the new VRs line to make them their 'fastest family of clubs ever'. Even Tiger Woods was said to have hit a few practice shots with them in Australia, while the entire Nike 2012 range has persuaded Ross Fisher to join the brand, right down to their new 20XI golf ball. TechnologyWhether you understand it or not, we have to go through the technology involved, which includes. NexCor Face Technology: Which basically provides variable thickness on the face and a larger sweet spot spread towards the middle and lower area of the club face where most shots are hit from. PowerBow: Is the bar forming the cavity at the back of the club, which moves the weight further back in the club to produce quicker and higher launch angles and importantly a steep descent for irons hit into greens. Dr Tom Harper of Nike told me: "Without doubt these are the longest irons we've ever produced, they will maximise performance for all golfers." In other words, all the technology is aimed at making these irons 'hot' light, quick, high launch angle, it all adds up to increased distance and increased consistency, and hopefully a decrease in your handicap. On courseThese technologies run throughout the VRs family from driver to Forged irons which Nike say are their thinnest and which come with X3X grooves they used on their wedges for a more consistent spin rate. You get a bit more confidence with the VRs, backed by that visible PowerBow but in truth both irons perform well, with maybe the VRs edging it in terms of being more forgiving to the huge amounts of strikes that do not come right out of the screws. Traditionalists will opt for the Forged, those wanting more colour and maybe a bigger safety net the VRs, but both impressed and both also saw a decent increase in distance than my worn out old set of irons. Weighting is great and encourages you to give it a bit more oomph, and my only problem really was judging distances now with my usual yardages having to be increased. The VRs rewards miss hits by sending them out there and without doing too much damage, and universally amongst those of us who have tried them found them to be a real breakthrough for Nike in their quest to get to the top of the golfing world.
