The concerns seem to center around whether or not the whiskey has any motivational effect on making the crocodile more receptive to the idea. For a while, I wondered why they were asking me but then it dawned on me that I was the one who wrote the poem in the first place. On that basis, I decide to give this whole thing its due consideration. Now some have expressed their sadness that they live so far inland that the crocs and gators do not frequent their universe. This has deprived them or might have so severely inflated the price of a pair of fine croc o gators that they are out of reach of that person's budget. They can only walk by the store and wish as they pass the shoes displayed in the window. This causes me to wonder as to whether there might be a market for your quasi crocsyou know, looks like the real stuff but ain't? I'll bet the Chinese are working on that right now. If so, I am sure it will make the crocodiles and alligators very happy when these products hit the market. You could also get a big truck and just drive around the deep inland areas of the country selling your baby crocs out the back as you go. Man, would those folks up that way be glad to see you or what? When the aches and pains grow in intensity, you don have to be a stunt double from the movie Act of Valor, you simply need to step back, let things heal or rest and then ramp it up once things feel back to normal. I have missed the past few weeks with my running clinic because the ol knee decided to teach me this valuable lesson. First, I am not 18 anymore and secondly and more importantly when its time to pull it back a bit, you are best served to listen. Nothing is worse than having to completely stop your training because you didn listen and now with a month I feel like I have to cram for a mid term to simply finish this goal of mine. 2) Alot of your success has to do with your footwear. I cannot tell you the difference I have felt since I traded in my heavy but fashionable Nike for the wide fitting, cushion filled New Balance shoes that really have added distance to my run. I now own two pair of New Balance running shoes as the first pair I got just sold me so much on what I can gain from having the shoes Absolutely love them and thanks to my friends over at Rackets Runners (23rd and Oak St.), I can wear my New Balance jacket and fitted jacket with pride knowing they will keep me insulated and prepared for any training I have to do between now and race day. Clothing is crucial and I just never realized it until I got educated about it. You hear it on TV and through the radio ads you hear from time to time, but man, to physically see the improvements with my own eyes is unforgettable. Yes, it might cost you a wee bit more, but the return on investment is some of the best you will find anywhere. PS: I have to say once more that I have been blown away by the customer service I have received at Rackets Runner on Oak Street. Knowledgeable, super easy going and willing to listen before they speak, I will recommend the entire Vancouver Canadians Baseball Club to do business with Rackets Runners this summer because I believe this little store on oak Street is the best in the business. I am not getting paid to say this nor am I the benefactor of this opinion. I just know above and beyond customer service when I see it and the product they carry is top shelf as well. They are a winner. 3) Garbage In, Garbage Out. I learned this from a wonderful woman once that what you put into your body nutrition wise is likely what you will get back as you train toward a big event. I am the of the drive thru meaning I am the guy yelling into the microphone at any variety of restaurant type joints throughout the Lower Mainland. But don buy stock in them just yet, as my days of three patty burgers, extra thick milkshakes and two pies because one apparently isn enough is over. Am I suddenly going to become a vegan or the guy that grins and acts like lentils are fun to eat. Nope. But I do know that my caloric intake for the day needs to drop and the type of food I put into my system matters. Think of your car. You put clean, fluid gas into the system and keep things up to spec, you get a great life with a good car. You sure don open the gas tank and throw a quart of molasses into it, or a pound of sugar yet that what many of us do everyday. Junk really is and we gotta be better at it together. Lastly, 4) You gotta keep it positive. What is Well for me, it is the week after I have started something. When suddenly the couch doesn look that bad and the work at times can get daunting out at the ballpark. Simply put, you have to make time for your body and your health it is as non negotiable as not drinking a pound of poison that lurks beneath your kitchen sink. You just have to get up, smile in the mirror, realize there is some kid in a wheelchair right now that would die for the chance to run the length of your street and just get it done. I love living, I love my children, family and friends and I don want to see it all cut short because I couldn get my ass up off the couch. Too busy? You have plenty of time to rest when its all said and done. These are the days that we get to mold our body and dictate our health.
