Dyeable shoes are an excellent choice for many types of events, the most popular being weddings. Being able to dye a pair of shoes is at times necessary, because it is much easier to have shoes dyed rather than purchasing a new pair for each event. For some events the bride, the mother in law, or the entire wedding party finds dyeable shoes very appealing. Because the same colors come in different shades and do not match each other, it may be necessary to purchase a pair of shoes and have them dyed so that they compliment your outfit. This process of dying shoes usually only involves supplying a professional with a sample of the color you are looking to match. However, you may find that this can usually be arranged for you by the boutique you buy your gown from, as this may be a part of their service. Numerous websites offer a host of accessories such as dyeable shoes. If you purchase a gown and a pair of shoes, it makes it easier for them to match up your color. However, a good online store often offers this service if you buy only the shoes, as long as you can supply them with the color of your gown. It is good sense to insist on a color sample before you place your order though. Another option is to take your shoes to your local professional who you can find at your local shoe retailer or shoe repair shop. Whether the pair of shoes you buy is satin, leather, synthetic or suede, they can be dyed to compliment your gown, and this extends to the other members of the wedding entourage as well. Colors are not restricted to white or cream, today many additional colors are available too. The services of a professional can tell you that fabrics have different characteristics from one another. They may also inform you that if you want to ensure that your shoes blend and compliment the hue of your gown as closely as possible; they must be professionally dyed. Another consideration a professional shoe dyer may tell you is that dyeing shoes does not guarantee that they are going match your gown exactly, but if not perfect, the color should be very close. The color of your dyed shoes may change slightly according to whether it is day or night and the reason for this is due to the textural differences in the fabric of your dress and the fabric of your shoe. This is one more reason to leave this to the services of a master dyer, as only someone with experience and training is able to get the closest possible match to your gown. Notifying the professional on the lighting conditions you expect to experience on the day of the ceremony should help them match the color more closely to the color of the wedding theme. You should ask them if they could do a trial run color match under the same or similar lighting beforehand. Ask the professional shoe dyer for a color sample before you go ahead with their services and it is important that you keep in mind that your shoes can generally not be dyed a lighter color than their original shade. Therefore, if you understand and accept that the final color should be a compliment to your dress and it may not be a perfect match; you should not be disappointed with the final product Another aspect to consider whey dying your shoes is that when dyed, your shoes may not be waterproof as the dyes that are used are water soluble and may bleed if exposed to excessive moisture, however, there is a way to circumvent this and that is to have your shoes treated with a water repellent spray, which should prevent staining. Dyeable shoes are an excellent choice for a wedding celebration because they allow you to easily match one's shoes to the color of the theme. If you are planning to use dyeable shoes, you should have a professional shoe dyer change their color because you can ensure they look exactly the way you want them. Air Jordan 11 Ultimate Gift of Flight,WLKY screenshot/ YouTube Police have confiscated $3 million worth of shoes from a Kentucky home. It sounds like someone has a shoe fetish that got out of hand, but it's a bit more sinister than that, according to MSN News on June 2. This bizarre story had police taking possession of all these shoes that were "scattered" in front of a house where two women live. As you can see in the picture above, the front yard looked like an army of shoes were invading. This amount of shoes on someone's lawn is bound to spark the attention of the neighbors. Apparently someone saw this because the police were called in to investigate this sea of Nike sneakers. Armed with a search warrant police found that the shoes were from a shipment that went missing back in 2009, reports the New York Daily News. The footwear shipment started out at a Tennessee Nike distribution center and was shipped to a distribution center in Texas. Somehow during transit, the shipment worth $3 million was lost. That was five years ago and now these shoes are recovered, but they are out of date and most likely not worth what they were in 2009. The women claim that they didn't steal them, they purchased the entire lot of shoes from "someone else." They didn't plan to wear all the shoes, they were selling them at local flea markets. Police are investigating and so far no one has been arrested. Sneaker News reports that Nike has confirmed that these were indeed the shipment of Nike sneakers that went missing in transit five years ago. The two women were selling these sneakers, that at one time went for the big bucks in the stores, for $5 a pair at the flea markets. The shoes included "every kind of Air Jordan" and lines of dress shoes from Kim Kardashian and Jennifer Lopez. The home that had all these shoes lined up on the lawn was in Harden County. Nike used the order numbers of the shoes to match them up with the order numbers of the shoes that were in the stolen shipment. This bizarre case has no one slated for arrest yet, but the investigation is still on going. When these shoes were first stolen five years ago, their prices were astronomical. Sneaker News archived articles from 2009 show that Air Jordan sneakers from 2009 were sold on average for about $150 a pair. Air Jordan 11 Ultimate Gift of Flight I don't watch R rated movies. I've just found that I don't like the filth in so many of them. I have never allowed my kids to see R rated movies as long as they were living in my house. But I made an exception last night. I took my 15 year son to see "Act Of Valor." My 19 year son went with us as well, but for my youngest, it was a big deal. Mom was letting him see R rated movie! Gasp The R rating was for violence and some language. In case you haven't heard about it, the movie was inspired by true events, but the unique thing about it is that it stars active duty Navy SEALS. The plot and story line are nothing to talk about. The acting of the Navy SEALS is also nothing to write home about, but I promise you, you will be glued to the screen the entire movie. There is something about knowing these are real Navy SEALS, doing exactly what they have been trained to do, that just brings you into it. It is emotional, spell binding, and heart wrenching. This movie gives you such an appreciation of not only the valor and ability of our Navy SEALS, but an appreciation of what our boys go through on the battle field, and the caliber of men and women it takes to serve our country. There is one scene where a Navy Seal Commander is interrogating (really just having a conversation) with the lead terrorist. The terrorist asked the Navy SEAL to just please not harm his family. The Commander says, "We would never harm your family." And I thought to myself, "That is the difference between us and them." After you see the movie, you will see exactly what I mean. Many of the action sequences used live ammunition, and the realism comes through, even when the acting does not. You walk away from this film, not thinking of the story, or the plot, but of the men who fight for our freedom, who give up everything for us. In the end, my heart was full of gratitude and love for our military. I thought my heart was pretty full of that already, but this film just makes it overflow. I saw how amazing our ships, planes, and equipment are. Some things they do, I wasn't aware of. I was in awe. I've never been to a movie where when it ended, no one moved. The packed theatre was completely silent. No one got up to leave. The words on the screen said that this film was dedicated to the SEALS who had losttheirlives since 9 11. Then came the list of names. No one moved. Well, that's when I lost it. And I wasn't alone. Run, don't walk, to see this movie. You will thank me later. Pay no attention to the wussiepansywaist know nothing Hollywood critics who diss this film. We all know they don't have a clue. God bless our military, and God bless this great country of ours. Please enable JavaScript to view the Featured Perspectives by Versa. Like most Americans, I am extremely grateful for the precision work that these special forces do. My uncle was in special ops for many years, and the stories he has told are astonishing. However, I am baffled and, frankly, offended whenever our military is morphed into entertainment of any sort. I am sure that I am alone in this feeling as just about every male in the US likes warfare video games, etc. I just find it so very disrespectful to reduce warfare to mass entertainment, especially when American troops are portrayed in these games. I also feel great offense at this weird marriage between the NFL and our military. It is impossible to watch any major televised football game without a cadre of uniformed soldiers taking part in the pregame entertainment, and then there is the inevitable flyover. I just find this to be really inappropriate. There is a time and a place for everything, and the time to acknowledge the sacrifices made by our troops is NOT before a sporting event. I all for having a color guard on the field during the national anthem, but having a military parade before kickoff just seems to reduce them to a mere show. I am not comfortable with this movie. I can understand you feeling all warm and fuzzy and proud, but again, I just find it really demeaning and inappropriate. I saw Act of Valor tonight with my husband, who is an active duty member of a special operations squadron, and I wanted to correct a line you quoted in your article Commander says, "We would never harm your family." And I thought to myself, "That is the difference between us and them." After you see the movie, you will see exactly what I mean. He actually said, would never touch your family. I don think this implies what you took from the line. Both my husband and I noted this line. He liked it because of the gesture that accompanied it, and I found it noteworthy because the commander specifically used the pronoun and put a bit of emphasis on it. With CIA black sites and legislation allowing for the indefinite detention of US citizens, I do not believe it to be outside the realm of possibility that the government would capture (or harm) a terrorist family. This line gives us a great opportunity to reflect on the value we place on individual liberties versus national security and if we can or should ever compromise individual rights. I think that is a far more profound point that the one you tried to make. No story? The wussy panty waists that diss this film will be likely to point that out in their reviews. The film will likely do well because of the interest in the SEAL teams, but if there is no story then there is nothing to drive customers back into the theater two or three more times. This will translate into a smaller box office and it will be best to keep this in mind when you are wondering why this film is not making what you think it should. At the other end of the spectrum would be Wars Only one A list actor, terrible dialog and a predictable ending. But it had a great story and folks went to see it six or eight times. This means a big box office. Without a story you have nothing. If all this film has is a message then it is really in trouble. The old saying in Hollywood is if you want to send a message call Western Union. If the film has no story then it is a real tragedy because it could have had one. There are only 32 plot lines in all of written history (example: A stranger comes to town. Think Or the Reluctant Hero of Seven Samurai and any one of them could have been used. But 2/3 of a films box office now comes from overseas where any action picture does well. Hopefully this will be successful enough to generate a sequel with enough money to buy a real story. Because that the film everyone will want to see. i liked the movie okay, but i thought it was kind of like Hawk Down with the storyline removed and performed by local community theater talent. BHD is the benchmark i use for modern war movies and i don think AoV is quite there. i understand about the action being more true to life, but as far as entertainment value, i consider the duty SEALs to be more of a gimmick to draw viewers than a benefit for the film. Of course, it could be that i was moved more by BHD because i saw it while my son was serving in Iraq. It was panic inducing at that time. You don watch movies? You are certainly depriving yourself and your young adult children from some very excellent films. There is a difference between Friday the 13th and say, Schindler List, Saving Private Ryan or Mississippi Buring. Anyway, to the original point, it sounds like an interesting movie and concept but it has recieved terrible reviews. I suspect I would find a documentary on the actions of Navy Seals much more interesting but I will probably watch this movie on NetFlix once it comes out. I glad you and your son enjoyed the movie. I heard lots of good things about it and I looking forward to seeing it myself. I a retired Navy veteran (20 years) and I a liberal who supports Obama 100%. I enjoy reading your blog and hearing your perspective on things even if I don always agree. I just can beleive some of the comments I seeing here. You definitely have more tact than I would have. Please don judge liberals based on these comments. There are knuckle heads on both sides. Anyway, keep doing what your doing and stay spirited.
